Information we need
We may need some important information from you, such as:
Your clinic number and date of birth - this is to ensure confidentiality, accuracy and patient safety. It prevents you receiving incorrect medicine or information and ensures your drug history is accurate
Allergy information  - this is to make sure nothing is prescribed for you that you're allergic to and to check for possible cross-allergies
Other medicine - the names and doses of any medicines that you are taking. This includes OTC preparations, herbal medicine, recreational drugs and other prescriptions from your GP. These medicines may interact with your HIV and GUM medicines and stop them working correctly. We check all the medicines you tell is about to make sure they don't interact with the medicines we prescribe you

It is important that we keep this information up-to-date and we will check it each time you visit the pharmacy.

Collecting prescriptions at a later date
If it is not convenient for you to wait for your prescription to be dispensed, we can keep the prescription on file, when you are ready to collect it call us and we will dispense it so it is ready and waiting for you to collect when you come in. Once dispensed, any prescriptions not collected within one week will be returned to stock. If you still need the medicine  you will need to see the doctor again to  get a new prescription.

Home delivery prescription service
Patients attending the Wharfside clinic can choose to receive their regular HIV medicines via a dispensing and delivery service. If you would like to find out more about this service, please contact the pharmacy and we can answer your questions.
