Shops and facilities

Shops
There is a shop on the ground floor of the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother (QEQM) building, run by staff and volunteers from the charitable organisation Friends of St Mary’s Hospital. This sells magazines and newspapers as well as sweets, soft drinks, greeting cards and other gift products.

There is a cafe in the main outpatients waiting area, also run by staff and volunteers from Friends of St Mary’s Hospital.

A newsagent also visits each ward daily, with reading material also available from a regular trolley service.

Restaurants
There is a restaurant at the hospital, which serves a variety of hot and cold food.
Opening hours: 24 hours a day

There is also a café near to the entrance of the QEQM building, which serves a variety of sandwiches, snacks and coffee.
Opening hours: Monday to Sunday from 09.00 to 17.00

Pharmacy
There is a pharmacy on the ground floor of the outpatients building, on Winsland Street.
Opening hours: Monday to Friday, from 09.30 to 17.15
There is also a pharmacy in the basement of Clarence Wing.
Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 17.00, Saturday from 09.00 to 12.00

Banking
There is a cashpoint in the shop on the ground floor of the QEQM building.

Internet cafes
There will be computers with internet access in a new patient information centre on the ground floor of the QEQM building, opening spring 2008.

Cashier's office
The cashier's office is on the first floor of the Mint wing.
Opening times: Monday to Friday, 10.30 to 13.00 and 14.00 to 16.30 

Visitors' accommodation

Hairdresser
A volunteer hairdresser is able to visit inpatients, subject to the patient’s medical condition and the hairdresser’s availability.

Library trolley
A library trolley visits each ward in the hospital. A volunteer also takes an activities trolley around the wards once a week.
