Families with HIV
We are the largest family HIV clinic in the UK. Our ethos of care, for this chronic infection which affects parents and children, is to support families as far as possible to stay well, get on with their lives, and not be held back by HIV. Clinics are held twice a week in children’s outpatients; parents and children receive “one stop shop care”.
Adolescents with HIV
With the advent of effective treatment for HIV in children, survival has improved dramatically; we have now established the first clinic for long-term follow up of adolescents and young adults with vertical HIV in the UK. The 900 clinic undertakes long-term care of young people who are likely to have significant problems in relation to their life long exposure to HIV and its treatment.
Pregnant women with HIV
We have a multidisciplinary team coordinating the management of antenatal, perinatal and post-natal care for pregnant women with HIV and their infants.
