Paediatric emergency medicine (A&E)

The emergency department at St Mary’s Hospital sees 25,000 children and young people per year. Children are seen by paediatricians, A&E doctors, emergency nurse practitioners and GPs in a purpose-built, child-friendly environment.
 

Services:

• Dedicated 24-hour paediatric A&E, fully staffed with a mix of A&E specialists, GPs and paediatricians
• Play specialist
• Evolving nurse practitioner service
• Daily review clinics for minor injuries and medical problems
• Weekly sports medicine clinic
• Weekly psycho-social meeting
• GP service during busiest times
• Liaison health visitor
