Nutrition and dietetics

Dieticians provide a service to all adult and paediatric inpatient wards advising on nutrition and health, food-related problems and practical ways to manage disease and ill health. Dieticians work closely within the relevant multidisciplinary teams and liaise with community services to ensure a safe and supported discharge into the community.

The departments offer a comprehensive nutritional counselling service for adult and paediatric outpatients. Specialist dieticians in complex diabetes, gastroenterology, HIV, renal and paediatrics are available for specialist outpatient opinion.

The nutrition and dietetics departments are open for enquiries Monday to Friday, 09.00 - 17.00.

An answer phone is available for out-of-hours calls and is checked Monday to Friday.
