Neurology

The neurology department offers a diagnostic and therapeutic service for all patients with neurological problems. This includes a hybrid model stroke service.

Diagnostic services include:

  • Autonomic and neurovascular investigations (a wide variety of autonomic function tests, designed to evaluate cardiovascular, sudomotor and other aspects of autonomic function)
  • Computerised tomography (CT) scanner
  • Electroencephalogram (EEG)
  • Electromyograms (EMG)
  • Evoked potentials (EP)
  • Interventional MR scanner
  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner
  • Nerve conductive studies
  • Video-telemetry

Consultants

Location
Clinics are held in the main outpatients department.

The neurology department is on the mezzanine floor, Cambridge wing.

Neurovascular medicine unit (Pickering) is on the 2nd floor, QEQM building.

At St Charles Hospital, clinics are held in the outpatients department.

The neurology rehabilitation unit is in the National Hospital for Neurology, Queen Square. Please note that this does not accept direct GP referrals.
