Infectious diseases

The infectious diseases team works closely with the HIV/GUM and viral hepatitis services and microbiology.

Dr Main has a weekly Wednesday afternoon clinic at St Charles Hospital for infectious disease cases including viral hepatitis, and a Thursday afternoon clinic for HIV/hepatitis co-infection (see GUM/HIV for details of other services).

Dr Main, in collaboration with Dr Jepson, has also developed the hospital outpatient antimicrobial programme to reduce length of stay for patients requiring parenteral antimicrobial therapy.
