Ovarian cancer kills 12 women a day in the UK, and survival rates have shown little improvement in the last 20 years. The Ovarian Cancer Action Research Centre at Hammersmith Hospital is dedicated to studying the disease, with the goal of helping turn it into a more survivable or ultimately curable disease.

Our research focuses on several key areas:
Accurate and early detection of ovarian cancer
More effective and targeted treatment, particularly ways to overcome resistance to chemotherapy
Understanding how to help prevent ovarian cancer

You can read more in our research topics section.

The centre was set up in 2006 with core funding from national medical charity Ovarian Cancer Action. It is the only dedicated ovarian cancer research centre in the UK.
