Financial arrangements for your hospital stay will be confirmed either before or on the day of your admission. We require all private patients to complete and sign an ‘undertaking to pay’ form before the start of any treatment.

Insured patients

Insurance policies vary in their level of cover. Please contact your insurance company before admission and obtain pre- authorisation.
Our finance team will invoice you for any aspects of your stay that are not covered by your policy. Please note that you will be responsible for funding any shortfall in payment.

Self-funding patients

Before admission, you will receive an estimate of the costs involved for your proposed treatment, including all the services you will receive during your stay. Please note that these charges do not necessarily include the consultant’s professional fees, as these may be charged separately.

You will be required to pay for your treatment in advance. The final cost depends on the length of stay and the tests, investigations and procedures undertaken. We will endeavour to let you know the exact costs as soon as this information is available. We accept cash and travellers’ cheques (UK sterling only), most major credit cards (except American Express), and bankers’ drafts.

Sponsored patients

Your consultant will provide your sponsor with regular updates during your stay. Funding for any additional treatment or items will be requested in writing and can only be provided once authorisation has been received.

Any questions or concerns?
A member of our business office team will be happy to visit you during your stay in normal working hours. The funds generated by Imperial Private Healthcare are reinvested in the Trust to support and enhance the NHS clinical services for the benefit of all our patients.
