The National Centre for Adolescent and Adult Females with Congenital Abnormalities of the Genital Tract is based at Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea Hospital.
Survivorship Programme
The Centre has a support group for women with congenital abnormalities of the genital tract. The majority of the patients have MRKH (Mayer Rokitansky Kuster Hauser) syndrome. It is the largest MRKH support group in the UK, with a membership of over 400.
Meetings are held twice a year and the group is supported by a consultant, a clinical nurse specialist and a psychologist. Any patient with MRKH is welcome. All partners and parents are also welcome, with the patient’s consent.
There is also a website that has been produced as an online support centre for patients and their families, www.mrkh.org.uk. You can find contact details for staff at the Centre on the website, as well as information about a secure online chatroom for patients only.
