Making an appointment

If you are a patient in England and you need to see a specialist, in many cases you are now given more choice over where to receive your hospital treatment. This system is called Choose and Book.

Research shows that patients want to be more involved in making decisions about their healthcare. The aim of Choose and Book is to give you at least four options when you are deciding which hospital or clinic to use. You can also choose the date and time of your first appointment.

Not all appointments are available on Choose and Book. Your GP will discuss the appropriate options with you.
