The dietetic service, predominantly based at St Mary’s Hospital, provides nutritional support and advice for all paediatric inpatients including specialist nutritional intervention to intensive care, neonates, haematology, bone marrow transplantation and infectious diseases.
A full range of outpatient services include diabetes, allergy, food challenges, neonates and home enteral nutrition.
There are several joint clinics including the family clinic, gastro-allergy feeding clinic and behavioural feeding clinic. In addition, there are five weekly general paediatric dietetic clinics at St Mary’s covering a range of general paediatric dietetic issues such as faltering growth, feeding difficulties and allergy. A specialist neonatal and paediatric outpatients service is provided at Hammersmith Hospital.
The team includes eight paediatric dieticians across the Trust.
