Up to 50 midwives from Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust put their best foot forward on Friday (4 May) to celebrate International Day of the Midwife. The midwives were joined by some of their clinical and non-clinical colleagues, friends and family as they set off at 4.30pm from St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, on the four mile walk to Queen Charlotte’s & Chelsea Hospital in Shepherd’s Bush.

21st century ambulance wins design award

A project to redesign the emergency ambulance, led by Imperial College Healthcare consultant surgeon Professor the Lord Darzi, has won a Design of the Year award. The transport award for the Designs of the Year Awards 2012 went to the redesign for the emergency ambulance by the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design and the Vehicle Design Department at the Royal College of Art.
