Meet the team

We employ over 300 midwives at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Teamwork is critical to the quality of your care. As a result, you will be treated by a team of experts from different areas of healthcare, including midwives, doctors and other health professionals as required. This is known as ‘multidisciplinary’ care.

Our hospitals are also teaching hospitals, which means we are involved in training the next generation of midwives. Our students are supervised by a fully qualified midwife at all times.

You may be seen by a student midwife during some of your appointments, or a student midwife may be present. Your midwife will ask your permission for this and you are free to say no. However, allowing student midwives to take part in your care provides a vital training opportunity. We hope that you will agree to their involvement in your care.
