About us

Learning for Work is part of the human resources directorate of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Alongside the leadership development team, we form part of the organisational development function.

Learning for Work began in 2004 and has since helped over 120 people to find jobs and provided training to many hundreds more. You can read about the experiences of three members of Trust staff who have been helped by Learning for Work in our Testimonials section.

Awards
The Learning for Work programme has been shortlisted for an 'Innovation in HR' award by the Healthcare People Management Association.

Funding
Learning for Work was launched using funding from the London Development Agency. We continue to be supported by the London Development Agency as well as the London West Aimhigher partnership. We also receive significant funding from the Trust.

Access and inclusion
We aim to ensure that all our activities promote inclusion and equality. We have a specific role in helping the Trust to meet its objectives of a representative workforce, and are keen to help people overcome any disadvantages or barriers they face in accessing jobs or training. Please let us know if you have any particular questions or concerns regarding issues such as age, benefits, disabilities, ethnicity, gender, health, language (including English for speakers of other languages - ESOL - courses) or physical access.

The community recruitment programme is open to all unemployed people willing and able to travel to the specific jobs being recruited for. Other training courses are generally aimed at NHS staff. You can find more information in Our services.

You can read more about access and inclusion at the Trust in our Equality and diversity section.
