Research and development is a fundamental part of the IRTC, brought together within the Imperial College Kidney and Transplant Institute, reflecting the Trust’s philosophy of continually improving patient treatment and care through cutting-edge research. The size of the unit, and the number of researchers and clinicians on one site, offers an unprecedented opportunity to carry out research on almost every aspect of renal medicine, from molecular to population studies. We have one of the largest patient populations in Europe, with enough specialist patient groups to conduct meaningful and effective clinical trials.
