  • Walk-in skin tumour clinic - rapid access and one-stop clinic for patients with suspected skin cancer (please note: you do need a referral to be written by your GP for you to bring along to the clinic. Without a referral, you will not get seen).
  • Mole-mapping clinic
  • Specific clinic for organ transplant recipients
  • National referral centre for patients with acne and rosacea
  • Laser treatment for patients with severe or recalcitrant acne
  • Referral centre for acne scarring
  • National and international referral centre for adult patients with histiocytoses
  • Dermatology surgery for larger excisions needing grafts or flaps
  • Hair disorders, including hirsutism
  • Laser treatment of hirsutism associated with polycystic ovarian syndrome
  • Botox injections for recalcitrant axilliary hyperhidrosis
  • Biologics clinic
  • Duolight clinic (for psoriasis and virtiligo)
  • Camouflage clinic
  • Vulval dermatoses
  • Photo dynamic therapy
  • Nurse led systemic therapy clinic
  • Inpatient referral services

The department has developed and validated the use of the pulsed dye laser for the treatment of acne and inflammatory rosacea. The department works closely with the renal and rheumatology departments. 

Research projects:
Non Invasive Imaging
Dr Rakesh Patalay research for Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Professor Chu are developing the next generation of non-invasive imaging technologies including fluorescence imaging, high frequency ultrasound and optoacoustic imaging. This has the potential to diagnose skin disease, especially cancers without the need for a diagnostic biopsy first.
