Cancer services

Hammersmith Hospital provides treatment for patients with:

• Colorectal, 
• Haematological malignancies
• Gynaecological 
• Hepatobiliary and skin cancers

The gynaecology oncology department is a specialist cancer unit and is the designated West London Gynaecological Cancer Centre. In a recent peer review the department received ‘excellent’ status and was praised for their team working, providing patient care as a multidisciplinary team. All patient management is underpinned by clinical and translational research; patients also benefit from a full range of minimal access techniques.

The hepatopancreatobiliary surgery department’s outcomes for patients are among the best nationally. A recent audit revealed that the Trust has zero percent mortality rate for pancreatic resections for cancer compared to the national average of 10 percent.

A ‘one-stop’ clinic for rapid diagnosis and efficient treatment of suspected skin cancers is available.
