The education directorate currently has a number of IT projects running concurrently. As well as reviewing e-learning architecture and assets within the Trust, we are developing central facilities for e-learning. These ‘learning cafes’ will be hubs of knowledge sharing and become places where students and staff can gather to learn.

We are also in the midst of a long term project to implement the Trust’s first full virtual learning environment (VLE).  We hope to host all manner of learning upon this platform for easier access from home and work to all learning held within the Trust.

We are embarking on a project to further increase our e-learning modules. This will allow more learners the ability to access their training remotely and provides an effective means of increasing education provision while reducing costs.  E-learning also provides benefits in standardising the approach to education access and assessment.

If you would like to receive any further information on any of the subjects covered, you can contact the project manager for ICT and education Paul Phelan in the education directorate.
