Sleep services

The sleep centre provides a dedicated service for the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. In 2007, it received a special commendation from the British Thoracic Society for innovation to sleep services, and in 2008 won an NHS Alliance Acorn Award for Excellence.

The centre includes full diagnostic facilities, including polysomnography, for patients with parasomnias and for all patients with excessive daytime somnolence.

The conditions we manage include:

• Obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome
• Obesity hypoventilation syndrome
• Narcolepsy
• REM behaviour disorder
• Restless legs syndrome and periodic limb movement disorder
• Parasomnias

There is currently no service for insomnia patients.
