Chest medicine

The respiratory medicine department based at Charing Cross Hospital provides the following specialist services:

  • General chest medicine
  • Tuberculosis
  • Asthma
  • COPD
  • Fast-track suspected lung cancer clinics
  • Sleep medicine (obstructive sleep apnoea)
  • Interstitial lung disease (ILD) including sarcoidosis 

Diagnostic and support services include:

  • Pulmonary rehabilitation
  • Inpatient sleep testing (including full polysomnography)
  • Full lung function
  • Bronchoscopy
  • Oxygen assessment
  • Exercise testing
  • Skin tests for airborne allergens
  • Fitness to fly assessment
