NHS breast screening programme
The NHS breast screening programme website has several information leaflets that you may find useful (PDF, requires Adobe Acrobat Reader, free download):
• Breast screening - The facts is sent to all women who are invited for screening. It’s designed to ensure that women are told what screening can and cannot achieve and includes an explanation about false positive and false negative results. It’s available in 17 languages, braille and audio tape
• An easy guide to breast screening is a leaflet that uses pictures to help explain breast screening to women with learning difficulties
• Breast screening - Over 70? is a leaflet that explains breast screening to women aged over 70 and outlines what they are entitled to and how to make an appointment
